Where Have All The Crickets Gone??

One of my favorite things about summer nights are the crickets. Laying in bed with my window open to the sounds of a symphony of cricket "chatter" is so relaxing. That is, it always has been until this year. It is now July 6 and still there hasn't been one cricket to be heard in my yard. I don't know if the snake population (I've seen a few over the years but don't know how many inhabit my yard on a full time basis) is detrimental to the little critters or not but if I have to pick between the two, I'll take the crickets any day. Here's hoping that some of them turn up soon.
